The common areas of the hotel were quite warm and it seemed to take a long time for the room to cool down. Twice during our stay, the housekeeping staff failed to leave clean washcloths in the bathroom and were rude when we requested them. The hotel has a pool/fitness center but it was hard to get to ... there were no signs on or near the door/stairwell that you had to go through to get to the pool. Overall, not an impressive hotel.

Attractions can be expensive and parking is costly ( Anywhere from $9.00 to $15.00 for just a few hours.) Try public transportation, which is reasonable. Discounts are available at attractions for seniors, retired military, etc. Active duty military is free.

I would definately recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and served it's purpose for our trip. Location was good very easy to get around to nearby stores and other activities.

The hotel was still under construction during our stay. Some furniture in the lobbies were still wrapped in plastic, and some rooms were still being renovated. Although our room was decent, there were some details that could've been refined - scrape the paint splatters off the bathroom counters and scrape the excess grout off the tiles.

The hotel was priced right. You definitely need a car to get around as it's a little off the beaten path, but it's very convenient to 163, so we didn't need it right on the beach or right in the middle of town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They were remodeling while we were there, but it didn't bother us a bit as they just had areas marked off where they were putting carpet down or they had a couple of guys painting the railings. No inconvenience, and we appreciated a quiet, convenient, and clean place.

After a day at the San Diego Zoo, my wife and I decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. To our misfortune, 3 tour buses arrived and the restaurant was extremely busy. There only 2 servers fo more than 100 guests. Once our meal was served it was cold. We sent it back and after 30 minutes it was served again cold. Our entire restaurant stay was 3 hours without having a meal. Then at 2:00 AM the fire alarm went off and we waited for 45 minutes for the hotel to turn it off. (false alarm) Very dis appointed.
