The room was really nice, except there is no air conditioning, and it was a warm day. I passed on the continental breakfast which was basic.

Not many amenities, but if you're looking for a fresh, clean comfortable place to stay and don't mind the area (Tenderloin), It's a sound choice. Seems to be big with Euro tour groups, as it is very European in it's visual execution. Just don't expect smoked salmon at the continental breakfast!

For my the hotel was perfect. If there is something wrong was the enviroment of the street. The hotel was quiete well located but it is located in a street where there are a lot of vagabonds and people involved in drugs. But it seem safe, anyway I prefer to return by cab to the hotel at night. But the hotel was great and the price wonderful.

The hotel has obviously undergone recent renovations and is definitely better than the 2 star rating that they have. I was VERY pleased with the service and the state of the rooms although they are a little small. Parking is not included so be prepared to pay $25 a night if you have a car. Also, while the hotel is nice, the neighborhood is less than the best, my wife was not comfortable walking alone at night.

We booked the hotel and upon reading the reviews were a little worried about the area. We needn't have been. Even though there are a lot of homeless around we never felt threatened or intimidated. The hotel itself was excellent, the room large and very nice with well equipped bathroom and flatscreen tv and spacious and clean. The air conditioning in our room was a must and never let us down. The staff were polite and very helpful and we certainly had no language barrier with anyone dispite some reviews on here. The (FREE) breakfast on the eighth floor was better than many we had paid for. All in all a really good hotel and stay. Also try the chinese restaurant next to the hotel - may not look the best but the food was lovely and so cheap too! Transport to the hotel was simple as bus stop (31) was just on the next corner

The area is kind of rough (don't be scared off by the homeless lining up for a bed across the street). When you get inside that hotel room though, the room is a nice suprise. The room is updated with modern amenities. And the continental breakfast was great. I thought it was better than trying to drive or get a cab to the nearest resturant. Overall, I would stay again!

We were a bit leery when we arrived at the hotel. It is in a somewhat rough neighbourhood. However, once in the lobby, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff at the front desk were extremely welcoming and friendly. They gave us many great suggestions for things do do while in the city. Our room was great- the decor is much nicer that what you find in an average hotel. It was also very clean. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day. As for the neighbourhood, it turned out not to be as bad as we first judged. It is a very short distance to Union Square and the streets are quite busy. A few people approached us for money; however, we felt safe overall and had no negative experiences.
