Stayed all over the world and this has the most customer friendly staff of all. With one or more stationed just inside the front door the staff is anxious to answer any and all questions, resolve problems, give directions, in a warm and friendly way. Could better advertise the coffee "shop" on the mezzanine but a minor flaw.Clean, comfortable and roomy too.

The Grand Hyatt is one of our favorite places to stay in the City. It's well-located for shopping, cultural and entertainment uses, close enough to transit, and walkable to a large array of destinations. The staff is accessible and responsive. The rooms are comfortable and the bar has a fun atmosphere. This hotel is a favorite with foreign travelers, too, which adds a fun aspect to the ambiance.

At my price range, as good as you can get. I'm not an expense account person, don't use room service, etc. No issues whatsoever - I highly recommend!

Recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt in August 2008. Overall the staff and condition of the hotel was great. I requested extra coffee, bathrobes when I checked in and they arrived within 5 minutes. I arrived early and waited in the rooftop bar for my room. The staff at the bar let me know the minute the room was ready. The hotel was completely full and they managed to provide very good service.

Very well located near Union Square and restaurants and much better than the tacky hotels around Fisherman's Wharf. They couldn't give us the bay view we requested but we did get an upper floor. Paid extra for executive room and use of the executive lounge. Had to pay extra for drinks there, which is a bit much having paid the extra premium, but the view from there is lovely. You can take full breakfast in the main dining room on level 36 of hotel or the smaller buffet breakfast in the executive lounge on level 32. Parking charges are ridiculously high. Recommend you use the public car park directly opposite the hotel, although you'll have to park your own car! Overall verdict: ok but pretty impersonal and unmemorable. Advice: book your restaurant and Alcatraz visit well in advance.

We were in San Francisco for a weeks vacation. The hotel location was great and near all the attractions. Very easy to get around, much within walking distance. Very friendly staff. I wish they had free coffee in the room but a Starbucks is across the street. View from the bar is great. Would stay here again.

This hotel is ideally located right next to Union Square. Our room had a great view of the East Bay/Financial district, was very comfortable but already showing its age. The staff is what makes this hotel superb! Very friendly, attentive and very efficient! Requests met very promptly (for example, extra pillows & blankets requested delivered in less than 5 minutes!).
