There is a public parking lot next to the hotel that charges $20 per day. They also have an indoor parking garage as well for $25 per night with in and out access. The Hotel charges $45! Another tip: the cost to ride a Cable Car one way is $5. You can purchase a three day "Muni Pass" which allows you unlimited rides on all public transportation (cable cars, trolleys and busses) for only $18 per person! Well worth it!

Hire bikes and cycle through parks and marina and over Golden Gate bridge. Book tickets for Alcatrez on line at least 8 weeks before you go, during summer season, as all tickets gone 6 weeks prior to our departure. Small "open all hours shop", a few doors down from hotel where you could buy fruit juice, milk and lots of fruit at sensible prices.

The hotel itself was fine - large room, comfortable and quiet. Happy with the hotel, even though the staff were a bit surly. The location however is a disaster - Geary Street from the hotel down to Union Square, is full of beggars, homeless and pickpockets. Our car was broken into around the corner. Very negative experience.

Parking at the lot adjacent to the hotel was $20 versus the $40 for valet ... as long as that remains the case park there!

The Adagio is coveniently located, near great shopping, Union Square, the theatre and transportation for sightseeing. The cable car depot is a few blocks down and around the corner, at Powell St.

Definitely spend a day walking through the shops in Haight Ashbury on the way to Golden Gate Park for a run or bike ride. It's the best the city has to offer!
