It's nothing special, but at the price it's good value and a pleasant place to stay. Mason Street is a bit scummy, but it's close in to the centre of SF which is convinient. I've stayed in a few places in SF and I'd go back to this one.

The room and bathroom was very clean, I liked the room and the breakfast was good. The weather was warm and there was no air conditioning in the room. There was lots of street noise so it was difficult to sleep with the heat and noise and in that area I did not go out at night alone ( a little scary), however in the day it was just a short walk to union square.

nice clean hotel, would probably stay there again. 2 things against it though. 1 on the edge of a dodgy neighbourhood. 2. the building next door is being renovated so there is a lot of noise. other than that it is ideally located near the main shopping area, only 2 blocks away. it also has its own cinema showing films shot in San Francisco
