The staff could not be more helpful with advice and suggestions. We were given a late checkout, without being asked, so we could freshen up before we left at 14.30. Beds very comfortable and hotel position good with buses outside and the cable car a couple of blocks away. Evening music with wine started a relaxing end to the day, particularly after having tackled a gang of pick pockets, on the bus, for the return of my purse (don't mess with us Brits!)

stayed at the Carlton for two nights as part of our tour of the Californian coast.The staff were very helpful.The room was very pleasant and i would deffinately return to this hotel.Good location also.

Well situated hotel, close to china town, close to westfield shopping centre, howevere they did not supply us fridge, which if you want to enjoy your cold drink and a little bit of fruit you will be disappointed, in general good hotel.

Well kept and maintained hotel in a great city. The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was excellent and had all the required facilities. Good location although a 10 minute walk to union square. Check this hotel out, it was a fab price.

Nice hotel in a good location relatively convenient location, public transport very nearby. Clean impressive foyer, very friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean with excellent fixtures and fittings, very comfortable bed. The only downside, and it is quite a downside, we were on the front of the building and it is extremely noisey!!! It was like having the street below, we were on the 7th floor, in your room!! The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours, but request a room on the back as the front is noisey.

The hotel was in the perfect location, only a 10 minute walk to Union Square and 15 mins to China Town. The rooms were clean and bright, my only issue was the size of the bathroom which was tiny, although spotlessly clean. The staff were exceptional, very helpful and so friendly. The free wine tasting each evening was a nice touch, we only made it once but it was really a nice end to the day. The bar ' Brick' next door has a great dinner menu and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel and especially at the great price we paid.

This was the happiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff greeted myself (and all guests I witnessed checking in or arriving back from a day in the city) with energy, jokes and laughter. The wine reception, though I missed it both days I was there, seemed to represent the true "joie de vivre" of this hotel, encouraging a good time by all guests and a chance for people to mingle. The room was spacious, beautifully designed and comfortable. I had a walk-in closet that was bigger than many hotel bathrooms I've had. Truth be told, I liked the hotel so much that I was upset I only had two nights there--I had to wrestle with my desire to hang out at the hotel (including the elegant lobby with fireplace and inviting sofas) and actually see the city of San Francisco during my short stay!
