Not recommended if you plan on sleeping. Every sound is audible from inside and outside your hotel room (even 2am fights that brake out nine floors below). Fortunately, the hotel facilities are nice, definitely up to par with other SF boutique hotels.

Hotel is OK located, I mean its reall near the downtown but right under the borderline between the safer streets and the streets you dont want to wan alone at night. Room I got was very very tiny, though it was very clean and quite as it had an inside window. Price-confort-location is GREAT, will definitly go back here while I am un a budget.

I loved this hotel. The overall design and appearance is just my style (IKEA chic, if you will) and the hotel has this cute library where they have a wine hour between 5-6 pm as well as coffee hour in the mornings. I also liked all the little extras, like the flat screen TV in the room, the cute zen room, the business center (where you can print and there's only one guest allowed at a time, so nobody is sitting behind you sighing waiting for you to stop), etc. There weren't any unforeseen extras, and coming from a frequent visitor to New York City, the on-site parking was very reasonable ($30 a night with in/out privileges). Stay here! It's great!

Nice hotel and friendly staff. The location is great in terms of being in the middle of it all (well within walking distance of many attractions and shopping areas) although the neighborhood (tenderloin district) is still a bit sketchy. If one takes the proper precautions of being in any city, it is a great hotel to stay. I would definitely return.

Hotel is not in the safest area, but definitely good location for downtown SF attractions. Hotel was nice, service was good, and I'd go back.

Nice hotel, older bulding with no AC or heat in rooms. I had a room that faced the main street and quite a bit of street noise. Beautiful rooms and lobby.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel!! From the first moment I walked in I was greated with friendly staff and the atmosphere was comforting. I had a room with a single double bed and the room was perfect! I have to admit, I've never stayed in a smaller hotel room, but it had everything I needed. All of the furniture was nice, the room was clean and the cool fresh air from outside made the air crisp. It reminded me of Europe. They provided two gift bags in the room, one with some ads in it with a free razor and deoderant for women, the other - a mesh bag with shampoo, conditioner, a bar of soap, body wash and lotion from H2O. The only thing I would have changed in the room would have been the mattress. It had a bit of a dent in the center. I will definitely stay at a Personality hotel the next time I go to San Francisco, and probably every time! The price was great too!!
