Simple but Enjoyable

Hotel Rex is a simple hotel. If your in San Francisco and not spending a lot of time in your hotel I would highly suggest staying here. Not too much luxury but good enough. The service is unbeatable. When we missed our shuttle to the airport the guy at the front desk (forgot his name)went above and beyond to find us new transportation, quickly! And he has the most adorable dog that hangs out in the lobby.

'RexTastic'

Simply the best San Francisco hotel we have stayed in. Very helpful and friendly staff made our wedding anniversary stay very special. Add to this a great location, a lovely 1930's interior and a free glass of pretty good wine each evening, make the Rex a perfect place to stay. Only those who enjoy faceless chain hotels will fail to grasp how good this hotel is.

Great Location

Great hotel just west of Union square. There are plenty of restaurants to explore nearby. The Powell cable car line is just a couple of blocks away along with many different places to go shopping.

Nice Visit

Classic old SF hotel. Small, nicely appointed rooms, fairly quiet. Street includes nice art galleries. Close to Union Square. Great staff. Very helpful with dinner reservations, maps, cabs, shuttles, etc.

Cozy and convenient.

Enjoyed cozy sitting areas and bar in lobby, wine in evening and coffee in am with newspapers. Good location to shopping, Union Square and public transportation. Staff were helpful and polite. Small rooms and no parking.
