While traveling on business or pleasure in the SF Union Square area, this hotel is not to be missed. Newly renovated the rooms are very modern and clean. Outstanding staff and a late afternoon wine tasting awaits you.

Nice accommodations and good service. We stayed here before the renovation and the quality and comfort are much improved. IPod dock in the room is a nice touch. Be aware that rooms on the Powell Street side can be a bit noisy. If you need absolute quiet to sleep ask for a different location.

I guess when I pay as much as I did for this hotel room, I expect a space bigger than the bedroom in my apartment in Chicago. The hotel was beautifully decorated, and I loved that about this place. But my suggestion is look at the pictures on the site, and take your money elsewhere. There was just enough room to walk around the not-so-comfortable bed, and that's it. The bathroom is nice, and for what ever reason, there was a walk in closet. The lighting fixtures were cool, and there was an ipod doc which was nice, but again, I wish I would have just looked at the pictures and then stayed at a another hotel, where atleast I could have gotten a free breakfast. The staff was ok, nothing spectacular. I wouldn't stay there again, it just wasn't for me... not to mention they charge a lot more to park your car than the garage just around the corner, and I didn't like that either.

The hotel/rom itself was pretty good - the issue I had was that my room got over 85 degrees at night because I was next to some sort of boiler or heater. Most of their rooms do not have AC but because my room obviously had issues, a standalone AC unit was in there...but it didnt work well enough to cool the room down. They gave me a key to another room at 3am so I had somewhere to sleep before I had to get up at 6am, and were very sympathetic, but for the price I paid, I expected a little more comfort.

The hotel was idealy placed only 75 metres from a BART station ($5.35 fare from San Fransisco airport)and bang in middle of shopping Macy,s round corner CABLE CAR at front door and bus,s on Market street one block away Plus free wine at five and TV AND COFFEE machine

Lovely room - great decor - comfy bed and a nice 32" widescreen TV, lovely bathroom with superb fittings - roof mounted shower and a large corner bath. Very friendly staff and a superb concierge. Great location on Powell a block down from Union Square and on the Cable Car line. Next door to H&M and 100yrds from Macys. Only let down by my room being in the middle of the hotel with no windows and it having a portable air conditioner - being one of the hottest spells San Francisco I was left with 2 choices - either don't sleep due to the heat - or don't sleep due to the portable aircon sounding like the 747 we came in on.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in SF, from 5 star to 1 star and this might be my new favorite. If you're looking for a quiet, homogenized, rest stop to lint roll a suit for the corporate conference.. this isn't it. If you are looking for a fun, eclectic, and invigorating experience in the city, this place has you covered. Easy parking, and easy access to the subway, buses, and cabs to get anywhere in the city. 2 blocks, from Prada, YSL, Marc Jacobs, etc. Tons of great restaurants, whether looking for indulgent culinary perfection, or greasy midnight pizza by the slice to go with that Cabernet you just opened in your room. This hotel was made for people wanting to experience life.

We were travelling with 2 teenagers, they loved the location, steps away from fabulous shopping. Powell street cable car stops less than a block away, easy access to all of San Francisco, no car needed. Hotel itself older with a lot of character, rooms beautifully remodeled, some slightly small, but it's an old hotel. Extremely comfortable beds. Rooms to back of hotel quieter than those that faced Powell, but the street noise was part of the ambience. Desk staff helpful with advice and directions.
