The Ferry Building has a Saturday morning Farmer's Market. A heaven for foodies! The Boulevard Restaurant, right across the street on the corner of Embarcadero & Mission is a new chic destination restaurant...great service.

Close to both pier and Downtown. Nice&cozy interior. Concierge is also very kind and helpful. Highly recommend "ocean view" rooms!! Great Baybridge View!!! It's so beautiful at night!!!

This hotel has a great location, for both pleasure (on the waterfront) and business (close to the financial district). It is elegant (the lobby), trendy (the bar) and rational (the rooms). I particularly appreciated two fantastic features: free-of-charge internet access - a rare thing in hotels these days - and rooftop terraces, with awesome viewpoints and comfy chairs.

Two tips here: firstly, the hotel has two private roof terraces overlooking the Embarcadero and the Bay Bridge - with brilliant views. You can take your own food and drink up to these terraces, so nip across to the farmers market in the Port Terminal oppoiste and pick up some food and a nice bottle of wine and enjoy some of the best views in SF. For dinner, don't overlook the hotel's own restaurant. We ate here on the last night of our honeymoon and food and service were both excellent.

We tried two excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and would recommend both Shanghai 1930 and Boulevard.

This is a great location-right across the street from the bay bridge-looked at it each moring and evening-wonderful(expensive)restaurant across the street. Across the street from the market place-within walking distance to Chinatown and Fisherman's wharf(ok, wear your tennis shoes ladies if you decide to walk to this one). Don't miss going to Sausalito and Muir Woods-just a short drive away across the Golden Gate Bridge! Would definitely stay there again-nice staff!

As soon as I walked into our room I knew I had chosen well. We had a bay view room and the view was stupendous. The room itself was simple and uncluttered but very comfortable and luxurious. The bathroom was large and the shower perfect. The staff was unobtrusive but very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast in the Americana Restaurant in the hotel both mornings and enjoyed both the service and the food. Gets crazy busy in the evenings on the weekend though. Obviously a hot spot for locals. It also has a wonderful ouside seating area. I recommend this hotel highly. Although pricey, I consider the money well spent.

Hotel Vitale was an excellent choice for our San Francisco trip. The location near the market/ferry building was a plus over the weekend. The consierge was very helpful and we had excellent dining experiences all over the city as a result. I had a wonderful massage at the spa, but was dissapointed with the construction which made making an appointment a bit of an inconvenience (the spa was closed during some normal working hours.) The yoga class was a nice added bonus.

I purchased this trip for my son's college graduation present. He and his girlfriend travel around the world but this was their first visit to San Fran. The hotel rolled out the red carpet for them and we can't say enough nice things about the quality of the room and service of the hotel staff. This impressed me greatly since they are young but know their hotels and we got a great rate through Expedia. The train station nearby was a big bonus.

Make sure you travel down to Gheradeli Square. The chocolate is to die for.
