I was traveling with 2 teenagers and the Hyatt was a big success. The location is great, staff were friendly and helpful and we had access to the Club Room which we all really enjoyed. We'll definitely go back and stay there again.

one flaw I realized from the hotel is that if you stay on Sunday, you have to be prepared to be waken up by the music and noise from the square underneath the hotel. On the weekends, the square are full of farmers market, artists and music peformers. I was woken up at 9 a.m. on sunday when a group of people decided to do aerobics and 70's dance moves in the morning. So, it is the only flaw.

Pier 39, Fisherman's wharf 20-30 min walk from the hotel but train stop right in front of Ferry's building.

Take the Bart from the Airport and return, $5.35 each one way. A cab will run you $50, a shuttle $17/person and they all take the same amount of time. Get a muni pass to ride the cable cars, street cars and busses, $24.50 for adults for 7 day pass. Get a Youth monthly pass for your teenagers for $10 for a month. The cable car rides one way are $5 and $1.50 for bus/street car.

My husband, our 14 month old son and I travelled to SF on a long weekend leisure trip. We were not sure what to expect of this hotel and its location, but as soon as we got there we realized it was the perfect choice for us. The hotel views are amazing, the service was great from the start. Many employees went out of their way to help us with bagagge and check-in, even when the hotel was very busy. Very clean, lots of elevators which were very fast. Right in front of the hotel there is a pharmacy, 24 hour convenience store, 2 fast food places. Right around the corner many more local places to eat. On the bay side, about a 3 minute walk, many more shops and local restaurants right by the water. The start of one of the cable lines is right outside of the hotel. Also, a subway stop right outside. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to Union Square. 15 to 20 minute walk to North Beach. However both walks are enjoyable and not hard. Lots of people around at night. We felt safe. Even when the hotel was almost full, we never felt crowded. Our only small complaints were that the lobby was under construction and it wasn't mentioned to us beforehand. Although, I must say it did not interfere with anything and we did not hear any noises from it. The position of the TV in our room was a bit odd. The carpet in the room seems a bit old, but it was clean. It was a great experience, I would highly recommend it.
