The hotel is located right across the street from a great little Italian restaurant that is really good for large groups or families!

This hotel was in an ideal location for union square. it was also near a bus stop that took you into fisherman's wharf and the route to the golden gate bridge. Having said that public transport is ace, although most palces are accessible by foot.

Brand new hotel, so lacking in character, as with most US city hotels. Breakfast expensive ($30), Concierge adequate only. Bar too small but buzzing on the weekend. Room very comfortable with exceptionally comfortable bed. Only major downer is the proximity to the fire station which is very busy. Room soundproofing to this level of street noise is not good!

USe BART to get in and out of airport. Buy the 3 day visitor pass for all inclusive public transportation needs, except for BART which uses separate, zone like fare card.

The hotel is new and the room was very clean and modern. The only problem I had with this hotel was that when we checked in, none of the passenger elevators were working, so everyone was led to the freight elevator by the hotel staff. The elevator stopped almost on every floor until we got to our 18th Floor. Smooth sailing after that. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious accomodation at a reasonable price.

Modern, clean with great facilities. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Room was very big and spotless the only criticism was that there was not sugar or milk for coffee and tea - seems odd when there's coffee making facilities, we asked for some and go sweetener. Not a major problem and the only thing we had to criticise. The pool was great - and actually long enough to have a swim unlike most hotels. I'd recommend this over the other hotels I've stayed in SF especially if you like modern.

The Intercontinental was absolutely the most fabulous hotel I've stayed in. The staff were by far the most gracious and accomodating ever! If you are in the area and want to be pampered, stay at this hotel...you will never forget it.
