The hotel itself was fine, the location was quite far from Market Street. Hotel staff was less than friendly and helpful. I would definitely not return to this hotel or recommend it.

Great lap pool, adequate gym and great staff I would recommend this hotel. The lobby is very nice. Walking distance to shopping and eateries.

Had five nights at the Intercontinental - couldn't fault the hotel on room comfort, cleaning, etc. Felt that requests for items such as extra dressing gown in room and extra cups, coffee sachets, etc. as there were 3 guests shouln't have to be made and when we did ask they were all ignored! For a family with children it's not ideal but location made up for the fact it was all a bit too snobby and the restaurant was no use for kids. I'd stay again but when we're a couple not a family!

A beautiful room, with excellent views. The hotel is centrally located with walking distance to anything we wanted. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Definitely a great place to stay, re-building the area so there are some homeless wandering but overall great location to great sites.

This almost brand new hotel was beautiful, sleek and modern. The service was excellent from the doorman to the maid. Only drawback was the location. (the bellman drew a line on the map and advised us not to walk in that direction) It was also very hard to get a cab there. We ended up using the town car so we would not miss our flight - cost about $10 more than a cab.

Relatively luxurious, and I liked the area which is pretty quiet. Close to City Center (my view on 29th floor was right on it), Moscone and walking distance to Union Square. Hotel is great, except for the extreme prices at the bar and restaurant. The room was quite clean, except for some details in the bathroom. Problems included a broken phone which was resolved, broken scale and broken mp3 player which were not. A major pain were the elevators-having to stop up to 5 times just to get to ground level with 6 elevators is completely unprofessional. The elevators would get crammed to the brim. Additionally the gym is just ok; only about 5 machines but a decent amount of cardio equipment. Sufficient for a few days I guess. The pool is very small. They started to put water bottles in the gym, but I guess people were just taking the bottles so they just put cups out, so as to make sure people paid for the $8 water in the rooms. Staff was generally pretty friendly and helpful. Overall good, but not quite great.
