This is a very nice boutique hotel in the downtown, just a few steps from Union Square and Chinatown, I can highly recommend it.

The Orchard is a wonderful place. The staff is very attentive and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. The location in downtown San Francisco is close to BART station, wonderful restaurants, and cable car routes. I definitely would stay there again.

I loved the Orchard Hotel. The location is great, the service is great, the price is great, it was clean and inviting and warm. I was a bit disappointed at the "green" aspect of the hotel. It was advertised to be green, advocate for recycling, etc. Upon arrival, I saw no recycling bin in my room. I never saw one except one behind the front desk. I read the book about the hotel in the room and found that it was built in a green fashion. Great. But I never found the box that supposedly turned off my lights and turned down my heat when I left. I hung my towel up to indicate that I would reuse it again, and it was replaced. I have to say that it has been replaced at nearly every other hotel I have done this at too, so that is not a big surprise. Overall a great place to stay, but not quite as wonderful as I had hoped in the "reduce, reuse, recycle" category.

This was a very comfortable hotel in a great location just off Union Square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cable car stop just outside the lobby was very convenient. We loved the quiet low key feel of the hotel, yet enjoyed the busy vibrant city life within easy walking distance.

This Hotel treated us with great Hospitality from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. They recomended great ideas for our day tours and resteraunts. The room were clean, Large and the bathroom worked great. Plenty of hot water and pressure. It was just the place to stay for a romantic weekend away with my wife and they helped arrange strawberries and champagne in the r4ooms upon our arrival.

Our first visit to the Orchard Hotel will not be our last. Simply a delightful place to stay. Great neighborhood; easy access to cable cars, buses and Bart; many restaurants nearby; and very friendly staff. My only negative is they only have a laptop computer for Internet access at the front desk - and you stand while using it. A line of people wait to use it - they really need to update their Internet service to two desktop stations with chairs.

The location of this hotel -- two blocks from Union Square -- was perfect. Our room was spacious, spotless, newly refurbished (excellent mattress and bed linens, in particular), and amazingly quiet. The ability to stroll to dinner at any number of quality restaurants within a 15-minute walking radius of the hotel was delightful. This has to be one of the best understated, undiscovered values in SF.

My wife and I stayed at the Orchard Hotel for the second week of Nov 2008. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The rooms were large with a beautiful King size bed with a comfortable duvet and many size pillows for your pick of comfort. Internet and movies were free. Cordless phone for ease of use. Clean and immaculate setting with a big bathroom and Hot shower (well not so hot but tolerable).We were clearly impressed with this Hotel and extremely satisfied with the service and setting. A must stay for family or couple. Thanks Orchard for a great first time visit to San Fran Jon and Jeanne from Canada
