I booked for 5 nights after July 4 because the rates were half of what the Palace normally charges. Hotels seem to charge less after a major holiday.

I cannot beleive the rate we were able to get for the hotel. It had outsanding style, unfortunately we were so busy we didn't fully get to enjoy all the amenities.

We were ready for the hotel not to live up to the PR pics but it did! The Palace hotel more than lived up to our expectations and we were delighted and impressed with it

Small overpriced room. Looked bigger in the pictures. Breakfast buffet was overpriced and mediocre. The Pool was fantastic.

When I saw that the Palace was a 4 star hotel at a 2 star price I was skeptical but when I arrived I was surprised to see that the hotel was even more beautiful than the pictures. The room was more than great with a large flat panel tv, a bed that somehow fit my soft bed preference and my boyfriends firm bed preference, and the bathroom feels nothing like the average hotel bathroom with lots of charm. Two plush robes in the armoire were a nice touch. The spa was also very nice, we went early morning and also at around 8:30 pm, neither time were there more than 4 people in the 3 lane lap pool. Everyone is so nice! The restaraunts are very expensive, although we did have room service which was top quality. You can find complimentary coffee and apples in both the lobby and spa in the mornings. The female concierge was wonderful taking her time to help each time I came to ask a question. As for the location, you are less than a 10 minute walk from everything, including the trolly to take you to Fisherman's wharf. If you want to take BART to the hotel from the SA airport, ask where the platform is and take a shuttle from there where you will ride to the "yellow line" and then take it to Montgomery St., then walk across the street and check-in! WONDERFUL!

When we selected The Palace from the Expedia site, we thought we would be staying in an elegant comfortable hotel. The expereince far surpassed our expectations...and we are not easily impressed. The hotel was immaculate, the service was excellent, and the renovation was really beautiful..old world charm in fresh, well appointed surroundings!

The Palace Hotel has a gorgeous lobby, a great bar (The Pied Piper), and a very nice pool area. We really enjoyed our stay.

The restaurant/bar are very high quality, beautiful and professionally staffed. Bart and buses stop adjacent to the hotel.

Grab a sandwich and eat lunch on the roof top garden of the galleria shopping centre at corner of market and montgomery. Surrounded by tall skyscapers and yet basked in sunshine. You can here the buzz of the city all around and yet relax at the same time. really cool place to chill out
