The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. Its close to lots of shopping. The room was twice as big as Sir Francis Drake where we stayed last year, without giving up any of the charm. And it was less expensive. I would definitely recommend the Serrano. We'll stay there again next year.

Small beautifully restored older hotel right downtown. Away from the noise of Union Square but it's only a short walk to Market Street. Room was small but clean and nice. Staff was great.

If looking for a light dinner the food court at the Westfield mall is great. Not the traditional mall food court......this is really great "real" food. Try the mussels and fies at Shore Catch.

There were a lot of restaurants that I wanted to try, but I was afraid to walk out at night by myself, because I'm really little. The hotel was great, but the location was not the best.

This was the second time I stayed at the Serrano. Both times I have been very pleased with my stay. The rooms are quite small, but contain lots of amenities. Everything was clean and well cared for. I had a corner room and the two large windows made for a nice, bright room. The staff were always friendly and doorman always said "welcome back". I didn't try the restaurant, but I did get to the daily wine tasting a couple of times. It was 10 to 15 minute walk to the Moscone Center, but the weather made it a pleasant walk.

I stayed at the hotel for 1 week for a meeting at the convention center. The location was close enough to walk to the convention center, but it could take 15 minutes to get there, so I often ended up take a taxi back and forth. The staff was pleasant. Room was clean. Room service did confuse my order or forget a few things 3 out of 4 times though. It is an older hotel, but cozy.

Their shower heads are actually high enough that I can stand under neath them (and being 6'6", this is quite a trick) _and_ they have shower head that actually allows for a decent amount of water (as opposed to the usual "low flow" trickle of water that seems to evaporate before it reaches your feet). Plus they've got Aveda products as their comp. shampoo
