Description


Location. The Donatello Hotel is located one block from Union Square and the Theater District in San Francisco, Calif. Events at The Moscone Center are six blocks away. The San Francisco Opera is less than two miles from the hotel. Fisherman's Wharf is two miles away.
Features. Elegantly decorated with original Italian art, travertine marble, Venetian glass and European antiques, The Donatello Hotel offers Old World charm and elegance. The hotel's restaurant, Zingari Ristorante, is known for its Northern Italian cuisine. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served in the penthouse lounge, which also offers views of the city lights and an adjoining rooftop terrace. Function facilities accommodate up to 40 people in the Terrace Room and Boardroom. Located on the top floor, the fitness center includes a spa tub and private saunas. The hotel offers concierge services, a 24-hour front desk and laundry services. Indoor valet parking is available for a fee.

Guestrooms. The Donatello Hotel offers 94 guestrooms with sofa beds, wet bars, microwave ovens, mini fridges, coffeemakers with complimentary coffee, cookware and dishes. All accommodations are located on floors five through 10, with street or interior views. Beds feature 250-thread count sheets. Complimentary wireless Internet is provided. All rooms are equipped with cable television, VCRs and CD players. Private bathrooms offer bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. Rooms feature air conditioning, laptop-compatible, in-room safes and complimentary newspapers.

Expert Tip. The bustle of Union Square offers a wealth of shopping, dining and fine art galleries one block from the hotel. Union Square is also home to San Francisco's Theater District.

Great location

The hotel is centrally located and easy to get to from the airport via the BART train system. Room was a good size with great storage and some nice touches - fridge, microwave and crockery etc in the room which was great if you wanted to eat healthily. My only criticism would be that the breakfast room is far too small to accomodate all the guests and people were standing around the room with plates. A good selection of food for breakfast. All in all a great place to stay - within easy reach of cable cars, train system and great shops and restaurants.

Ideal Location

The location of the Donatello Hotel is ideal for those who need a hotel within walking distance to Union Square and the all important shops. Our rooms was large, bright and very clean with a microwave, coffee maker, cups, bowls and cutlery but the continential breakfast was adequate so we never felt the need to utilise these facillities. The staff were very helpful and polite Location is excellent but I would recommend bringing ear plugs as for some reason the fire engines put their sirens on even when it is 3am in the morning and there is no traffic!!
