The trolley buses are very cheap. $1.50 to travel anywhere all day. Kids are 50cents!

Best way to see city is on foot. Fisherman's Wharf (good food, shops and aquarium there) is 15 mins away. We walked up (and up!) Lombard Street to see the windiest part then continued on to Washington Sq, Coit Tower, Chinatown and Union Sq shopping area before getting a cable car back to Lombard Street. Alcatraz is well worth it. Night tour gives great view of SF's coastline lit up. If you plan to go BOOK IN ADVANCE.

My friends and I went down to california mainly to see two Jonas Brothers concerts but the trip was so much fun because the Travelodge was near everything adn we could walk to Union street, fishermans warf, pier 39, and so much more! Also we were pretty loud but they didn't kick us out! The walls are thin so you can hear the TV in the next room, but if you plan to go on a trip and not have to worry about parking in the city and you don't really plan on spending too much time hanging out in the hotel room, this is the place for you!

Invest in a City Pass. It was well worth the money. Public transportation is very easy to use & a lot less stressful than having to try and find parking.

The rooms were clean, but not luxurious. The air conditioning machine was a little noisy. Breakfast (orange juice, coffee and some sweets) is set on a small table at the front desk (7-9am), so that you can take it to your room. There are no tables for you to have breakfast downstairs. Staff was friendly. It seems some rooms have fridge and microwave, but you have to request it in advance. Mine didn't. I didn't have an iron either. Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Located in an area where there is good public transportation to go to Chinatown, Market street, financial district, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf... The area, Lombard Street, is full of hotels. If you didn't like this one, there are two other hotels just accross the street, so you could always move with no hassle. It's in a quite flat area for SF, so if you have mobility issues or a wheelchair this area would be nice (or anything to the west of this hotel on Lombard street). The more you move west on Lombard street from this hotel, the flatter. As you go east it becomes very steep.

The hotel is very near Fishermans Wharf, but not near enough to go walking.

This is an old, run down hotel with 0 amenities. Walls are paper thin, you can hardly move around in the bathroom, it's badly maintained and very depressing to be in. On top of that they slap you with a $12/night parking fee.
