Definitely needs a new coat of paint. The paint was peeling in the bathroom. This is definitely not the place to go for a romantic getaway. I was disappointed with the fact that they charge for internet. On the plus side, the room was kept clean and the staff was friendly. I was only in the hotel room for sleeping so this was good enough for me. The location was very central to all the tourist attractions. The hotel was within walking distance to the cable cars, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station, Grace Cathedral and many more. It was also a great location for dining and shopping as well.

Union Square is a bustling area of shops and entertainment. Right around the corner is a small hotel called Union Square Plaza Hotel that was perfect in every way. Good service, clean, great location. I would definitely come back to this hotel

Union square is great for shopping. Many great stores like H&M, Macy's.

The hotel doesn't have many amenities... but it's perfect if you use your room for sleeping only. It's really quiet at night. The room is kinda small but it is in good condition and clean, this is remarkable being that the building seems to be really old. If you are travelling on a budget or you prefer to spend money in other stuff, this hotel is perfect.

There are lots of stores in the downtown area and at Fisherman's Wharf. I suggest you take the Alcatraz tour awesome.Also the double decker bus tour took us all around the city and picked us up at the hotel.

This is a borderline hotel in a number of ways. It is right on the edge of the Tenderloin neighborhood -- not for the faint of heart. It's also in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint, and some vacuuming in the hallways, elevator etc. Front desk staff were pleasant but generally disinterested. Probably shouldn't expect too much for what I paid, but I don't think I'll brave it again!

I will admit...the hotel isn't quite the Hyatt or the Marriott but it was clean, comfortable and perfectly located. If you want a wonderfully decent price and an excellent location (and don't mind missing out on the pillow mints) then I think this hotel is for you.
