Great hotel!

I had a great stay at this hotel from the moment I checked in. Check-in was very friendly and took less then 2 minutes and as a bonus the room was ready when I arrived (3 hours earlier then normal check-in time). Everything is really fun and well appointed, I even had a cool Buddha statue that glowed pink, purple and blue! The freebies (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.) are all Bliss products... so for the first time I used the hotels and not my own. I stayed here because of its proximity to the Moscone center and would highly recommend it to anyone in town for a trade show or local area business.

San Francisco Trip

Parking was $45 plus tax. if you are paying top doller for the room I think they can cover the parking fee.

Too many Service errors!

I just stayed for three nights and was initially impressed with the smart appearance of the hotel and the small but cutely appointed room. The valet lost our laundry and we were charged more than $280 for a phone call overseas when it should have been $130. It took a lot of time to get the matter rectified and we didnt get our laundry back. The cost of the call was fully reimbursed but the feeling I got from the staff not one of apology but that we had done something wrong. I lost my confidence in W.

Not a typical W

Not a tipical w hotel. Except being beautifuly decorated, i was disapointed with the overall service. Internet excess was way too expensive. Most of the 5 stars hotels do not charge you $15 a day for the internet connection. The rooms were way too small. When we ordred breakfast, that we paid $80 for, we did not even had a space to put the delivery cart at. My husband and i love to stay in luxurious hotels, W San francisco is definetely NOT the one.

W San Francisco - Wonderful but...

I stayed at the W San Francisco for two nights and I really enjoyed my stay overall. The room was very clean, the beds were so comfortable, everything in the room was perfect. Everything about the W is very upscale, very high-class yet hip and trendy. My two complaints are the following: 1. To use the computers in the business center, you have to pay $6.95 per 15 minutes. Many other expensive hotels I've stayed at provide not only free computer access in the business center but also free printing and faxing. I wanted to look up a few things, being unfamiliar with San Francisco, but I could only look up so much for 15 minutes. I get that the hotel charges for in-room internet usage. That is pretty standard, but to charge for computer usage in the business center and at such a high price...that was frustrating and disappointing. It makes a guest feel as though the hotel is trying to squeeze every dollar it can out of you. 2. No gift shop. I know that not everyone likes souvenirs but I'm not asking for tacky things. Maybe some nice zip-up hoodies with "W San Francisco" in small embroidery on the left corner. Also, it would be nice to have a gift shop in the lobby for any incidentals you forgot or need, i.e. cold medicine, a soda, a magazine, etc. Other than those two complaints, I would highly recommend the W.

Very modern and cool San Francisco hotel

The W hotel was the final stop for us on a tour of San Francisco and the wine country. After staying in a grand and more old fashioned hotel the previous week, the W was a big change. The hotel is super sleek and very crisp looking with lots of quirky touches. The TV that can be covered with a mirror is particularly nice... There's nothing that can be faulted although the only criticism would be that it felt a little soul less although that's probably to be expected in a big city, chain hotel. Overall highly recommended.

Sleek and Techo-hip and Very Good

As with other W hotels I have stayed, the W in San Francisco is highly stylized with modern and contemporary furnishings and art but with enough funky artifacts smartly placed to take away any perception of cold and impersonal space. The accent is on youth at the W chain, but I am in my early 60's and like the hotel not only for its style but most especially for its attentive and professional staff. Excellent concierge service. Fine location.
