Canmore is a great, quiet little town, just a few minutes drive from the park boundary. It is less busy and cheaper than staying right in Banff. Try the Rose & Crown in Canmore for a casual beer and surprisingly great food!

We all got together in this beautiful hotel for our Christmas getaway. Even though the lobby isn't anything spectacular to look at, the room made up for that. We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our balcony and bedroom window. We had enough room for a Christmas tree and all the presents under it! Everyone was comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and even had a dishwasher (what a blessing!). There was a pool and hot tube for guest use that look really nice, even though we did not use it. Needless to say, I would definately stay there again. I know they have single rooms too, so maybe we will head up there without all the family to check it out sometime too.

Spectacular Rocky Mountain views from the pool. Nicely appointed well equipped 2 bed condo. This place is all thumbs up!!!

Get a unit with kitchen. Go to the local store and get foods for late night snacking and breakfast. Limit number of meals you eat out. If you do eat out - get deli meats and bread from grocery store and pack a picnic and go to one of the many local parks.
