A nearby Chinese restaurant, Restaurant Bonheure (spelling?) was terrific and affordable. Between St Catherine and Maisioneuve on St. Mathieu (or thereabouts). We passed it on the way to the Guy-Concordia metro. Also, the Hotel is near Marche Atwater, one the city's farmer's markets, that is well worth visiting. Also nearby is a bar/nightspot (live music) that microbrews terrific beers. It's called Brutopia and is a genial, pleasant venue to socialize.

The Musee de Beaux Arts is a 10 minute walk away and well worth visiting. It is advisable to to take a taxi to the viewpoint on Mont Royal and walk down. The views are stunning.

The location is great - just off Ste. Catherine - with lots of dining options and shopping nearby; the Guy-Concordia & Atwater Metro stops are also nearby. The hotel was clean and comfortable with the only drawback being sometimes having to wait for the elevator (2 for the building). All of the hotel staff from cleaning staff to front desk staff to the concierge were so helpful and friendly - and most accommodating to both English and struggled attempts at French. A great stay!!!

Since there are so many restaurants around this hotel, pay special attention to those the concierge recommends. They know what's good, safe, and edible.
