Description

Location. The 19th-century Hotel Raffaello is located within two blocks of Wenceslas Square in Prague, Czech Republic. The trendy district of Vinohrady, renowned for its bars and restaurants, is two blocks away. The nearest metro station is I.P. Pavlova. Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG) is 12 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Housed in a 19th-century building with a traditional, grand facade, Hotel Raffaello is a pastel-painted hotel with balconies and an arched front entrance. The classical decor, upgraded in 2004, includes crystal chandeliers, marble floors, plush sofas and dramatic displays of tropical flowers. The property is smoke-free. Hotel Raffaello is well located for seeing the sights of Prague and multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide information, and book restaurants or tours.

There is no restaurant at Hotel Raffaello, but it does offer guests a complimentary buffet breakfast in the basement breakfast room.

The hotel has a shaded area for picnics with wooden picnic furniture, open to guests during warmer weather. Bicycle rentals are available onsite. Child care can be arranged (surcharge).

Guestrooms. The Hotel Raffaello's 34 guestrooms are on five floors and decorated in light tones with gold-accented dark wood furniture and framed prints of Prague. All rooms have dial-up Internet ports (surcharge), minibars, satellite television with pay movies, and safes. Marble bathrooms have bath/shower combinations and complimentary toiletries.

Expert Tip. The late 19th-century Neo- Gothic Cathedral of St Ludmilla is located two blocks away from Prague's Hotel Raffaello in Namesti Miru, or Peace Square. Its best features include two steeples and a relief of Christ with St Wenceslas decorating the front entrance.

Getting there. Registered taxis wait outside the Arrivals hall and cost about 600 CZK-900 CZK (22 EUR-32 EUR) to the city centre. Getting around. Hotel Raffaello is on Legerova, two blocks from Wenceslas Square. Prague's historic centre is compact and easy to explore on foot, as many roads are pedestrianised. There is an efficient and inexpensive public transport system, including trams, buses, metro, and a funicular railway. Tickets are available from tobacconists, stations, and many hotel reception desks, and can be used on all modes of transport. Five of the major metro stations have information offices, with schedules, maps, and directions. Onsite parking is available (surcharge).

Driving directions. From Prague Ruyzyne Airport:
Follow signs for the city centre on the K Letiste motorway.
Pass the big junction soon after leaving the airport, then take Nervosa until the big roundabout, and turn right onto Svatovitska.
At the T-junction turn left onto Milady Horakove and turn right onto Burbank at the next T-junction.
The name of this street changes to Wilson ova after you cross the river.
Wilsonova will turn into Mezibranska and then into Sokolska.
From Sokolska turn left onto Rumens then left onto Legerova.
The Hotel Raffaello is on the right-hand side.

Clean but noisey

Our overall experience w/ this hotel was good. The problem seemed to be no air conditioning. So we had to leave the windows open. And if your room faces the street you better have packed ear plugs. Sirens seemed to go by every few minutes and it is a very busy street from about 5:00 am till about 1:00 am. The staff was helpful, and the buffet breakfast was good, and the room was clean.

Excellent Service!

Might consider bringing ear plugs! Lots of sirens and revelers late at night.

Meet our expectation

The hotel is very convenient to get to and close to Wenceslas Square. The hotel is on top of a small hill so walking from the Museum to the hotel will take around 10 minutes. There is a Tesco supermarket a block away. You can buy mineral water from there. If you want to go to the castle, it is easier to take the tram 22 or 23 to the station PohOrelec on top of the hill and then stroll downhill to the castle. Walking uphill to the castle is not fun.

Ideal Location

Don't book for an expensive organised boat trip, just wander down to the river and book directly at the mooring point, much cheaper!

Lovely

There is a pretty good restaurant just across the street. Do use the public transport either the trams or the subway. And buy a multi day pass.

Convenient location

The hotel was in a convenient location just about 10 minutes from Wenceslas square and 20 - 30 minutes walk to the old town, and very near to underground and tram stops. The main problem was that the rooms at the front of the hotel were noisey as the road was very busy. All night you could hear traffic and sirens going on. The rooms at the back of the hotel are much quieter. We had friends staying in these, and they had no problems.

Good value and location

A resonably priced hotel, well-located next to a Metro station, about a 5 min walk to the top of Wenceslas Square and 20 min from the Old Town. The room was sparse but clean, and suprisingly quiet given the location. No desk unfortunately, and the wireless Internet access, though cheap, was painfully slow.

let down by breakfast

Hotel Raffaello was clean and in a good position for the tram and metro to visit Prague. However the cold coffee, cold hot milk, lack of tea bags each morning really let it down.Breakfast was obviously put out at 7.30 and allowed to get cold

Very Good Budget Hotel

Use the very efficient Metro, the nearest station is only yards away. Explore the local Vinorahdy area, there's a bar or restaurant on every street corner and at cheaper prices than the Old quarter or Wenceslas square.
