Watch the taxis at the airport - we were charged double - 250 EEK and went the long way. On the return journey (taxi booked by hotel) it was 110 EEK and half the journey time. For amazing food highly recommend Balthasar - the Garlic restaurant in the main square.

Lots to do in the old town. Well worth a couple of days exploring. Not much to do in the main city of tallinn. Not an ideal location for kids.

"Hell Hunt" - a great local pub, bit like pubs in the old town in Edinburgh. Good beer and atmosphere but quite rightly - they reject stag doos. "Depeche Mode Bar" - don't bother. Eat at the Old Hansa (can't miss it)...have elk....and Kuldse Notsu Korts - the one with the pig window boxes - on Dunkri, the meat feast will feed 4 and drink the sea buckthorn shnapps both superb.

At the North end of the Old Town, good location for the harbour if you want a trip to Helsinki.
