The taxi fare from the airport to the Old Town should be around 100EEK but there's a "different taxis, different prices" routine you should be aware of. Prices per distance are displayed in each taxi but ask for an approximate fare before agreeing to go anywhere, otherwise you can pay almost twice as much in some taxis as others.

Tallinn is quite small, so we spent four days there, but only took about one and a half to really explore the city. It's easy to take car into the Estonian countryside to see Haapsalu and Parnu which are very different, and also a ferry (1.5 hours for the fast one) to Helsinki for the day.

The bike tour of Tallinn is a great way to see some of the sights just out of town without having to hire a car or take a tour bus!

Just outside of Tallinn there is a fish restaurant where you catch your food. They supply the fishing rods and you fish for some trout. The fish is then smoked and marinated and served with a wide range of dishes. Very Nice indeed.

Would recommend checking good restaurants for eating out with guide books or hotel as some are very touristy and mediocre.

I would say it was quite an informal hotel, which was ideal of us.

An excellent hotel next to the old town, shops and bars. A very comfortable stay, although partner and myself were a little disapointed with the shower. In addition, we were not given much notice about the time of breakfast on NY day so we couldnt do anything about the fact that we would depart before it started surving. As a warning the time of breakfast changes for weekends.

We booked a two hour guide which was a great way to get to know Tallin at the start of a short break.
