Location. The Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa is located on the Walt Disney World Resort property in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The hotel stands across the street from Downtown Disney.
Hotel Features. Located along one of Florida's many waterways, the resort occupies 27 acres with a separate island containing three heated pools, a hot tub, sauna, lighted tennis court, basketball court and a sand volleyball court. The Spa Buena Vista Palace features facial treatments, body wraps, massage therapy and nail care. Signature treatments include the Theme Park Leg Relief Wrap, or for children, the Little Princess Facial. The Spa includes a complimentary fitness center with television-mounted workout equipment. Golfers receive preferred tee times at five championship Walt Disney World golf courses. The Australian-themed Outback Restaurant, which is not associated with the national chain, features steaks, pasta and seafood. The Watercress Café, open for breakfast and lunch, offers light entrees such as homemade soups and omelets. Each Sunday, Disney characters join diners for breakfast.
Guestrooms. This 27-story resort offers 1,014 contemporary guestrooms. Island Resort Tower rooms are accented with vibrant colors, whereas the Resort Building features more neutral color schemes. Beds feature down pillows and 250-thread count white duvets and linens. Rooms include refrigerators and coffeemakers. Bathrooms feature bathtubs or showers, and are stocked with Clear by LXR toiletries. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen televisions and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.
Expert Tip. Tucked in the middle of the Downtown Disney area is a shopping and entertainment complex with 70 stores, restaurants and theaters. The hotel's complimentary evening shuttle transports guests to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.

Fantastic downtown disney hotel
My partner and i spent a (very) long time trying to work out where to stay for our first trip to orlando and looked at many of the different resorts and finally narrowed it down to the buena vista palace and the omni. We were so happy we chose the buena vista in the end!! Its location was hugely convenient, with the entrance to downtown disney literally across the road! From here all the buses to the parks leave and all the disneyfied bars, shops and restaurants can be found. Compared with the omni which we passed fifteen minutes earlier on our trip from the airport! The hotel has recently had an awesome refurb and the pools are really good! We stayed in the island resort complex (the smaller building behind the pools in the promo shots and not in the towers) here it was very peaceful and within easy reach of all the amenities. By far our favorite holiday to date!! And watch for great last minute bargains, we got our 7 night stay at this 4* hotel for an unbelievable low rate!

Good but beware of the surprise
This is a smart well kept hotel with extensive facilities. However the reception was frosty and American i.e. I didn't really care how you are I just have to say these words!! Beware the mandatory resort fee on arrival of $14.95 as this is hi9den in the small print and covers no more than 2 bottles of water per day, access to the leisure facilities, Wi-Fi and access to over-priced TV stations. The greeting of an extra $60 on toip of the pricey room rates meant our Xmas started on the wrong note.
