A bit tired

The location of the hotel is excellent for shopping and night life - all within walking distance. The hotel itself is in need of updating. It was clean, but showing its age. Bathroom slightly delapadated.

Noise wouldn't be a problem if the rooms were not so hot!

The hotel is very basic and its position in the centre of Temple Bar is great. It lets itself down in the little ways: ther lack of air conditioning means you have to have the windows open to help out the meagre little desk fan. This means a LOT of noise. Not noisy revellers, but cars, lorries, aircraft and (especially), metal bins being wheeled along the cobbled street at all hours. Staff are reasonably friendly but not terribly efficient. I could not recommend this hotel given that its drawbacks do outweigh its advantages.

Central Location

if you want a reasonably priced night out then don't stop in the city centre. The pub prices are exorbitant

Nice accommodations, but a little loud at night

There are a few construction projects ongoing nearby the Grafton. That wouldn't normally be a big deal because you spend most of the day out and about. However, daylight lasts a long time in Dublin and the construction crews tend to start early and end very late at night. Additionally, on weekends, Dubliners like to club and the Grafton is near a few night clubs. Once again, not normally an issue, but the Grafton doesn't have a/c, which means you need the windows open during the warmer seasons. The accommodations were nice and we'd probably stay there again.
