Room was very small and scruffy with almost no daylight. At breakfast staff did not keep tables cleared and clean. Sat at a dirty table and ordered coffee that never came. Location of hotel was excellent though.

Best places for eating out if you want a light evening meal - Rivoire in the Piazza della Signoria. Best Pizza to be found in the square with the big archway and Edsons book shop. I think it is Piszowskis. Places to visit: San Miniato at Monte but beware the roads to it are very, very steep!Santa Croce church is magnificent as is the Uffizi gallery. Worth using the audio talks in these places but make sure you have some form of identification. They will take driving licences, even old ones!

For excellent fish and seafood try "La Baccarossa" 46r, Via Ghibellina which is about 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Try Massacecco for dinner just around the corner. Also, Festival del Gelato is across the street and has a great array of flavors

Don't go to the "Republica" restaurant at the end of the street, food is way below standard for what we ate elsewhere in the city

My friends and I enjoyed our experience at the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful in all of our requests. The hotel was a treasure to find in Italy, walking distance to all the major attractions. The hotel was beautifully decorated, but the rooms didn't match the rest of the hotel. However, they were very clean. They need a little more splash of color. Very beige. The breakfast was generous. I will recommend this hotel to my friends. Allover, it was a great experience. Will stay there again in the future.

Best shopping city we have visited. Beautiful window displays and all housed in original buildings without a neon light or concrete eyesore in sight. Markets recommended - Centrale for food with leather goods and jewellery in surrounding streets. Also Piazza Ciompi for the flea/antiques market.

No problem about what to do, more one of not trying to see too much in a short period of time.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. When we first arrived the room we were given was quite small and faced on to the kitchen, but we immediately said we weren't happy with the room and they moved us to a deluxe room. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good and location was unbeatable.
