Hotel staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. The room was beautiful and well maintained during our stay. It was not exactly central to the city but was only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Florence, but the comfort of the hotel was worth the extra walking and peacefulness of the area. Turn left when leaving the hotel and the River Arno was 2 minutes away which provided an interesting a scenic stroll into the city. We saw Nutria at about 6pm swimming in the river!

There's a really good Chinese place (trust me, you will get tired of pizza & pasta!) near the hotel on Il Prato heading towards the Uffizi. I can't remember what it's called but it has 2 red lanterns outside. Decent price for the quality of food.

There's so much to see in Florence you need to plan your days and it's definitely worth pre-booking the major galleries. Worth noting that churches and cathederals are open on Mondays when most sights are closed. They don't have the long queues either.

Had asked "NON SMOKING ROOM"....and although had some free rooms, provided me at first one smoking room ( and smelling strongly). Extremely slow service at dinner, when arriving and having "Welcome menu". Not so close to center as it is written in advertisements.

Recommend The Trip Per Tre, Guitar/rock pub especially if you like Guiness. Also the Han Lo Chinese restaurant just opposite, excellent.

Rooms were spotless and large. Bathroom was excellent- Hotel qualifies for a 5 star in North America. Excellent food and friendly, knowledeable staff. 10-15 mins walk to most major spots and shopping. Just excellent

We flew from Heathrow to Milan and then to Florence which is why they lost our luggage. My Italian cousin recommends flying to Pisa and taking the train to Florence as it is a great service.

lovely 5*hotel,beautiful surroundings and comfortable rooms. Food- breakfast varied and plentiful and of good quality. Evening meals good but very expensive, worth paying for a taxi to go into the centre to eat and a livelier environment. Hotel in the suberbs and 20mins walk from old town along the river. Staff polite but not over friendly. One complaint that despite other english guest in the hotel no english papers available.

Taking walking boots to see the sites in Florence. Don't wear shorts or sleeveless tops in the churches as the frown on it!
