Description


Location. The Starhotels Terminus has thick, century-old walls which provide peace from the traffic outside, and lies opposite the central train station and 500 metres from Naples' historical district. Naples (Capodichino) Airport (NAP) is four kilometres away, around 10 minutes by car.
Hotel Features. Called the Roof Garden, the open-air canopied terrace has potted plants, tables, and chairs, and provides views of Naples' port and Mount Vesuvius. Guests of Starhotels Terminus can plan days out using the computer with high- speed Internet access (surcharge) in the lobby. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is also available in public areas. There are 11 meeting rooms, accommodating between 20 and 200 people; all the rooms are equipped with audio- visual technology. Onsite parking is available for a surcharge.

The Odeon restaurant is air- conditioned and opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving regional dishes. On the top floor, the open-air Positano restaurant is between May and September for lunch and dinner, and serves regional dishes.

Guests can work out in the complimentary 24-hour fitness centre which contains weight machines, cardio machines, and free weights.

Guestrooms. Starhotels Terminus offers 171 air-conditioned guestrooms in an eight-storey building. All rooms are soundproofed, have high ceilings and open onto small balconies. Amenities include minibars, satellite television, and high-speed Internet connections (surcharge). Pillow menus offer six choices and, on request, a butler brings a complimentary basket of beauty products for guests to choose from. Contemporary, grey-marble bathrooms contain shower/tub combinations or walk-in showers.

Expert Tip. In the train station across the street, visitors can purchase 'artecards' that offer discounts to museums, cultural and scientific attractions, and tours in Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and other regional destinations.

A taxi costs EUR 15.50 (subject to change), but passengers must request the fixed rate or the driver will use the meter. Buses go from the airport to Piazza Garibaldi across the street from the hotel. The metro goes from the airport to the main train station across the street from the hotel.

Good business base

Smart hotel, with nice bedrooms, though rather hard beds. Bit of a slow lift, but it was Ok once I found the stairs. Huge longe area good for informal meetings. Breakfast reasonable. OK fitness room, but on day 2 the water cooler was almost empty, so I reported it to reception. I was not at all impressed to find it had not been filled up 24 hours later. Other than that, service was good

Ideal location for visiting roman sites

Difficult to find a decent restaurant within walking distance but there is a very traditional pizza place on the edge of the historical centre.

will use again

In addition to be adjacent to the main station the hotel is next to the Circumvessia (sp?) a local service which takes you to Pompei (3euros) or Sorrento (5euros return) so handy for sightseeing.
