Description

Location. Exedra stands directly on the Piazza della Repubblica across from the Repubblica Metro station in Rome, Italy. The ancient Roman ruins of the Diocletian Baths and St. Mary of the Angels church frame this unique property.
Hotel Features. The lobby glows with rich furnishings, white-columned walls, vaulted ceilings and subtle lighting. La Frusta, a restaurant designed by Adam Tihany, combines historic ambience with 21st-century vibrancy. Tazio Brasserie is adorned with snapshots of Tazio Secchiaroli, the forefather of paparazzi photography. The hotel houses a champagne bar lit with red and blue lights and distinguished by cascading crystal chandeliers. High tech meets history in the business center and function rooms that feature ancient stone walls and glass floors where the mosaic floors of the Diocletian Baths are visible below. Meeting rooms can accommodate up to 250 guests. The hotel's Exedra Wellness Spa offers chromotherapy and revitalizing and purifying herbal teas and massages. Saunas, steam baths, a solarium and spa tubs offer relaxing retreats. The spa adjoins a rooftop pool that offers panoramic views of the city. Additional property amenities include transportation to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport for a fee and Town Car rentals.

Guestrooms. The hotel's 236 guestrooms offer two-toned crocodile-leather headboards accented by golden-brocade bedspreads and curtains. Rooms afford views of the Piazza della Repubblica or the Monti surroundings. Private bathrooms vary in size, but all feature marble walls, floors and counters. Room amenities include satellite television and dial-up Internet access. Minibars are available in all accommodations.

Expert Tip. This hotel occupies a central location near some of Rome's most beautiful churches. The Saint Mary Major Basilica is located right down the street. Across the street is the stunning St. Mary of the Angels church.

Great Location and Friendly Staff - Shame about the Bed!

The Exedra was a great location to stay at! It was in the heart of Rome and very close to everything. There was a metro line just outside the hotel that took you to every sightseeing spot. The hotel is located next to the main shopping street, Via Nazionale and there are lots of great restaurants within an easy walking distance. Notably, La Cucina - this is a fabulous little restaurant and is located on Via Nazionale. The interior and exterior of the hotel was very impressive! Our room had very high ceilings and a little balconette overlooking the streets of Rome. The one fault with the bedroom was the bed. It was a double bed but with two single matresses, which was quite uncomfortable. The conceirge at the hotel were extremely helpful and overall it was a hotel with a fantastic location and very friendly staff.

misleading website of hotel and hotels com

we stayed at this hotel in September 2008 the website advertised it as having a pool and all other amenities you expect a five star hotel to have in fact when we arrived the hotel's pool was being renovated as was much of the hotel - if we knew that before we booked we would have stayed elsewhere. The website if very mislaeding also there are no restaurants/ no lobby to sit in and watch the world go by (important in times of bad weather)

Staying at the Exedra

Booked hotel for facilities such as rooftop swimming pool. When we got there the pool and restuarnt were all shut. Very dissappointing. Also find the bar or restuarant at the hotel was a problem. People very nice - good consieges. Room was very clean and nicely decorated.
