"fantastic Location"

This hotel was in a great location with very nice staff all with excellent English. We liked this hotel very much as it was reasonable and comfortable - we walked to all the main tourist sights and went across the river for excellent food in an area we would never have found but for the staff at the hotel.

Icing on the cake stay!

one would think that with a building facade on the outside looking typical of any other building in Rome, you would expect a typical European or Renaissance interior but no, the inside..... i must say, totally modern, uber-chic and really icing on the cake stay for our trip. with a modern looking logol, it should be obvious. a truly wonderful stay at 47.

Good hotel

It's hard to judge the size of Rome on a map. This hotel looked a little out of the way but it's not! Perfect for visiting the Colosseum, Palantine Hill, the Forum and more. At night you can stroll across the river and in 5-10 minutes your in the heart of Trastavere. Look for restaurants in the streets behind Trilussa and near St. Maria in Trastavere. Very good selection. Some with very good food & low prices too. Hotel room very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Breakfast nice - yogurt, cereal, fruit, breads, cakes, juices, cheeses, caprese tomatoes, hot and cold meats, eggs. Would highly recommend the hotel for a romantic break. If you wander to the north of the city and get a taxi back it only seemed to cost about €8.40 even in the early evening. You can hear some street noise from outside at times but it was never loud enough to disturb - and it is Rome after all!

Wonderful hotel in fabulous ancient district of Rome

My husband and I picked this hotel for our first visit to Rome for my 40th birthday. We were very pleased with the hotel on all fronts. We were just slighly disappointed that the rooftop bar/restaurant was not open in February - it would have been fabulous to enjoy a drink there in the evening. The location is excellent with jaw dropping historical sites and architecture on your doorstep. We dropped our bags and walked the circus maximus up to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and were immersed in the history and beauty of the city - We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel in Rome

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Rome, 47 was definitely the best. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and modern, and the rooftop restaurant is a great place for evening cocktails. Unlike lots of Roman hotels, there is a feeling of space outside and in. The hotel gives very easy access many of the main sights and is on a direct bus route to the Termini Station. The one downside was the very restricted breakfast menu. For a hotel of this standard, choice and variety are sadly lacking.

Great place to stay

Great location - about 10 minutes walk from the Colloseum, with bus stop about 20 yards down the road which has busses that to the Vatican and many other sites. Another 10 minute walk across thye bridge and you are near some off the tourist route restaurants which are very good and very reasonable. We had a Delux room which was a very good size, and quiet too. I would go back.
