We wondered about staying in a hotel so close to Piazza San Marco, but once we closed our window at night, it really was amazingly quiet. We brought ear plugs just in case, but never had to use them. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was above average, and the location was great. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Great for Doge's Palace, Tower Clock, Basilica, St Mark's Squre. Close to Harry's Bar and designer shops.

Easy to locate, in a corner of St Mark's Square. Close to the vaporetto San Marco stop, and great to get around Venice. Stairs on entry, not good for disabled clients.

Hotel Concordia was a delight; from its location overlooking St Marks square to the friendliness of the staff, the clean and comfortable rooms and the substancial breakfast, which was required to set one up to explore this lovely city. We would certainly stay again.

There are two boats that can take you to Marco Polo Airport operated by Allaguna. One stops at several places on the way and takes about an hour. The other goes directly to the airport and takes about half an hour but costs four times as much

Don't take a private water taxi - they're expensive and the fast water bus only takes 40 minutes to St Marks @ 25 euros
