Viareggio enjoyed its heyday during the 1920s, when the ornate Liberty- style (Art Nouveau) villas sprang up along its palm-lined promenade and the grid of streets behind. Broad, dune-backed beaches, a harbour filled with fishing boats and luxury yachts, and its flamboyant Shrovetide carnival attract the crowds.
see all hotels in Viareggio"Had to pay for Wi-Fi + Pool"by P from London
The location and the horel is very good, the staff very friendly, but to pay €5.00 per hour to use the Wi-Fi was a total rip off. This hotel says it has a swimming pool (that's was the reason why I booked this hotel) but it doesn't, it only has a partnership with a private beach that has its own pool so what does it mean? It means you have to pay to use it €15 per person with the use of 2 long chairs on the beach for the day. I don't mind to pay for it but don't lie and say straight away what is free and what you have to pay for. I hope this quick review was useful to you.
"Brilliant hotel"by j from Liverpool
what else is to say about hotels in Italy in general, you get what you pay for. And this hotel is no exception. Its absolutely lovely. Breakfast is great, they hire you cycles to go around the area for free, all rooms have a sea view and the lounge / piano area is quaint. Staff are friendly and efficient, and this is what gives it the 4 star branding. definetly worth a stay.
