The hotel is situated right near rembrant sqaure, a ten minute walk from Dam sqaure and all the shops are really close by. So not too much walking for anybody. The hotel itself was clean and relaxed. Any queries was answered and the food was tasty! As the title says, it was just as a hotel should be.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The location couldn't be better, close to downtown, you can walk everywhere. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Check-in is said to be at 2pm but we got there at 12pm with the intention of only leaving our bags and going for a walk, but when we said in the reception we had a reservation, before we explained we just wanna leave our bags the receptionist started our check-in process and gave us our room keys without any problem.

The Albus Grand Hotel is great value and well located. Although its very central its situated further back from all the tourist trappings but very close to a major shopping area, a short walk from the red light district, right amongst some of the best bars and clubs in amsterdam and just across the road from much of Amsterdam's gay nightlife. It was perfect for my brother and I, two guys in our 20s looking for fun. Breakfast wasn't included and seemed a bit steep at 16 euros. It didn't matter to us though - we slept right through breakfast every morning.

An excellent hotel in a very central location, ideal for visiting all areas of Amsterdam. Rooms were quiet, clean and spacious and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Really good location for shopping, restaurants, art galleries, transport, tourist sites etc. Rooms clean and functional, staff polite I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The Albus was over-booked so they had moved us to the hotel over the road. It was literally a one minute walk and an upgrade as this was a 4 star hotel called the Jolly Carlton. We found the service excellent. Also the location was great - just around corner from flower market and some good places to eat.

The hotel is located close to the floating flower market, good location for sight seeing and walking distance from central station. We did not have a deleux room and were provided with a hair drier toiletries and tea and coffee. Hotel contempary, clean and staff helpful. we found breakfast very expensive and found plenty of cafes close by which were better value for money. Definatly return to the hotel.
