"Mercure Hotel - Amstel Business Park"

This hotel is located about 10 - 15 minutes from the Central Station in downtown Amsterdam (with public transportation), and only a 5 minute walk to the Metro station from the hotel. Therefore, it is very quiet and close. The hotel is very nice, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We booked online and needed to pay the city tax extra at check in (bring a credit card). You may be offered an upgrade to a premium room for EUR 15.- per night. My recommendation is to take it! You get a huge, very comfortable bed, a walk-in shower (very big and nice), nice flat screen TV, internet access, newspaper and the rooms have a free safe and a minibar. The hotel has secure parking for EUR 20.- per day (unless it's your birthday). Though the rooms are small, they are very comfortable. The hotel is a bit hard to find, even when you see it from the distance - the only downfall. I consider myself picky when it comes to hotels, but this is one that will not dissappoint you.
