Excellent hotel in all respects and great location. Our room was a little cramped but the other features far outweighed this .. especially the fee mini-bar!

Only 5 minutes walk to Nieuwmarkt Square, with many cafes, restaurants, ATM, etc. To go past there into "central" Amsterdam on foot, you either need to walk toward the station and go from there, or you'll find yourself walking through the Red Light district. If that's what you want, it's easy to get to.

The canal boats are the easy way to get around, we underestimated the walking time better central station area and sightseeing attractions

We found the room to be quite spacious for Amsterdam. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. I was even able to get some breakfast before the official opening time on Sunday so that I could make it to my conference on time. The wellness area with the changing rooms/showers, fitness area, pool, spa, and sauna were pleasant. This hotel was conviently near Central Station and the central part of town without being in a noisy area.

On site food and drink will cost ya big....there are tons of wonderful places near by.

Amsterdam is an expensive place, and food can be very pricey. I suggest looking for smaller, more "out of the way" places to grab a bite, where the service will be great but the price not as steep.
