Description

Built in 1952 and completely renovated in 2001, the Hotel Aalborg is a modern family-owned hotel, situated opposite the beautiful Sarphatipark in Amsterdam's colourful De Pijp district, just one kilometre from the museums and galleries of the city centre. Its 36 guestrooms, over four floors, are decorated in white and neutral tones with coloured fabrics and modern furniture. All offer satellite television, direct-dial telephones with data ports, wireless Internet access, radios and hair dryers.
Guests can book tours, tickets and excursions with the help of multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk. Information on Amsterdam can also be found via complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel for guests with laptops, and the hotel also offers childcare facilities, airport transport, and nearby parking. The hotel is in an excellent central position for exploring the bustling city of Amsterdam and all of its sights; Holland's largest daily market, the Albert Cuypmarkt, and the Heineken Experience Museum are within 500 metres of the hotel, while the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and famous flea market at Waterlooplein are all one kilometre away. Amsterdam Schipol Airport is 15 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

Directions

There is a railway station in the terminal's central hall, under Schiphol Plaza; direct trains run to Amsterdam Centraal Station approximately every 15 minutes. From Centraal Station, take tram Four or 25 and alight on Woustraat, 50 metres from the hotel. Schiphol Travel Taxis are available from outside the arrivals hall; fares should cost around 32 EUR. Public buses also run regularly to Amsterdam and other cities. Much of Amsterdam can be explored on foot, although trams run throughout the city. More adventurous visitors may wish to hire bicycles.
Driving directions: From the airport follow ring Zuid and take exit S109. Exit right at the end of this, and at the roundabout turn right onto President Kennedylaan. Follow this road straight on, with the river Amstel on the right, and at the sixth set of traffic lights turn left onto Ceintuurbaan (which turns into Sarphatipark). The hotel is 800 meters on the left.

Not Impressed ... Unpleasant Service

Hotel is too far from city centre, didnt experience any kind of good service from the hotel staff, not a great area of amsterdam and finally this hotel should never to rated as a three star!
