All rooms includeThe classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.

The hotel is in a great location. Both sides of the city are easily accessible. We were disappointed that we could not use the terrace as this was my main reason for booking the hotel! The tip is to book in advance to guarantee a table. We missed the first day and the following 2 days when we had booked it was closed due to weather! We were a little disappointed with the breakfast and did not feel it was to a 5 star standard. The restaurants are limited - the choice is either the very expensive restaurant that you may not always want or the brasserie with a very limited menu. We did eat in the brasserie however and the food was excellent. All things taken into consideration though we had a grerat stay and the reception stay were extemely helpful - nothing was to much trouble.
