Park Plaza Vondelpark - Amsterdam

Those w/ small children, some areas have no lift & strollers can be a bit difficult to navigate w/ on the stairs. The first room they put us in was too hot & the a/c was blowing cool air but not cool enough. When we complained, they tried to say this was the temp in all of the rooms as they are on central heating & air. It wasn't the temp for the building at all. The hallways were cooler than our room & it was obvious that each individual room had their own controls. They gave us a fan & we left for several hours w/ the fan on & windows open. When we came back it was hotter than when we left & it was night. They gave us a much cooler at no additional charge. Our 1 yr old son accidently broke a lamp. We cleaned up the glass, told the hotel & they did not charge us for the lamp. At that point the hotel totally redeemed itself. A warning: the bathroom is all frosted glass & is open at the top so you can hear & see the person using the bathroom. It provided little privacy. Location is excellent & away from most of the busy city. The public transportation is very accessible & there is a beautiful park behind the hotel which great for kids. Overall the staff was friendly & it was a safe, clean and comfortable hotel. We would stay there again.

Well it was a novelty! The room was an ok size, it looked on first appearance to be clean. The bathroom I wouldn't really call en suite as the glass wall was only a three quarter height. Thankfully this wasn't a problem for my wife and I but if you are going away for the first time as a couple bear in mind in the bathroom you have no privacy and everything is experienced in the rest of the room!

Excellent hotel situated very near the park. Nice walks and within 20mins walk to the busy tourist centres. No 2 Tram stops 50 m from the hotel and the service is excellent and frequent. Stayed in an ex. room with balcony, excellent. A substantial breakfast with plenty of choice to start the day off. We would certainly book this hotel again.

Stayed here for short city break. Hotel is in a nice area backing onto Vondelpark. The No.2 tram stops 100yadrs away and is perfect for getting around on, 7 euros for 24 hour ticket. The Hotel is clean and safe and staff are very helpful. Would stay again no worries!

Excellent hotel, staff very helpful, rooms were spotless and very comfortable.

Just spent 2 nights with my 10 yr old we found the hotel to be a great place to launch from Close to town but very quiet in the evening Lovely room with great beds and Plasma screen great bathroom very modern with free Tea and Coffee as well.Staff were all very polite and helpful..10/10

I can't stress enough how nice the area where this hotel located is. It is right next to Vondelpark and lots of lovely bars and restaurants are only a nice stroll or a quick tram ride up the road. The hotel itself is nice and clean, nothing spectacular but absolutely fine for the price you pay in a nice area of Amsterdam.

We had a Deluxe Suite and it was great - very stylish and spacious. It wasn't a "suite" in the usual sense of having a separate bedroom and living area - but the central TV podium (which swivels) breaks the room up. Breakfast was good, and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would recommend the Park Plazza Vondelpark to anyone . We spent 3 nights there recently and really enjoyed it. All the staff at the hotel we friendly and helpful - the Reception staff even explained about their traditions of "Sinterklass and Zwarte Piets". Rooms were very clean and comfortable and we got upgraded when we arrived. Had breakfast there two mornings - fairly typical for a hotel chain but very good.
