Great location very near Dam Square - all main attractions within walking distance. Also not far (about 10mins walk) from main train station with good connections to Schipol. Hotel very clean and comfortable, staff helpful - would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going to visit Amsterdam.

THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT IS GREAT FOR PUBS AND IS NOT AS EXPENSIVE AS THE BARS AROUND DAM SQUARE.ANYONE WHO LIKES HARD-DANCE MUSIC OR JUST NORMAL DANCE GO TO SENSATION WHITE OR BLACK IN JULY THE DUTCH SURE KNOW HOW TO PARTY!!

Use the TV information portal for places to go. Queues for Anne Frank's house in summer are ridiculous though.

If you purchase a rail ticket to the Airport at your hotel make sure it is date stamped as undated tickets are not valid on the rail network

good clean hotel, friendly staff and great location within walking distance of central station on Dam Square. the hotel is a bit like a travel inn in the uk in style and does not have a late bar. BEWARE my partner accidently broke a small ikea side table and was charged 350 euros for a replacement. I understand that breakages must be paid for - but thought this was a bit much! check out is at 12.00 late checkout can be arranged for 20 euro per extra hour.

This is a nice hotel in a great location, but watch out for additional expenses. For example, you cannot use a credit card call on the phone and the hotel's rate for calls is multiple Euros per minute. No telling what it would cost to eat or drink something out of the refrigerator.

Buy an I Amsterdam card from the front desk; discounted entrance fees on many attractions and shops. Everywhere is within walking distance BUT BEWARE the cyclists; keep one ear focussed behind you! If you have a GPS system look on the internet for geocache locations as these will help you find the hidden history of Amsterdam.
