This hotel turned out to be absolutely perfect for what we wanted. It was just outside of the city centre so found it by taxi when we first arrived but is cheaper to get to in and out of the city centre by tram. The stop is about a five minute walk from the hotel and runs about every ten minutes. The staff were friendly and the receptionist was extremely informative when were first arrived. The room was clean and we managed to have 3 adults sleep in the room comfortably. The only thing that perhaps let the hotel down was the food. Although the food was good, it was over priced for what it was. Even though its not in the very centre of the city, there is easy access and it was an ideal place to stay.

I had booked a double room, however, the bed was 2 singles of different sizes, just pushed together. This meant that most nights I ended up disapearing into the gap in the middle. Quite simply, not good enough. The tram ride was 25 mins ride to city centre, not 15 mins as advertised. The tram stop was half mile away from hotel, not just outside as advertised.

The Tulip Inn was a great place to stay in Amsterdam. It is a 15 minute tram ride outside of the city which was kinda nice. It was good to get away from the city. The Hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful in answering questions. Would definately stay there again.

Using ticket machines, most shops do tram tickets worth getting, a day pass or more! Was a bit conned out for a english breakfast, nearly 8.00EURO for one,!! lucky 2 have cafe here in england, 4.00GBP for the lot! Shop around!!

Follow the economy of your country. In Europe, our spending was limited due to the fact that everything we purchased and every transaction we made actually cost us twice as much. Thankfully the food, merchandise, and travel wasn't too expense to begin with. Secondly, make sure you are taking the right bus to your destination. I actually got on the right bus, but since the area was unfamiliar, I missed the stop to our hotel and had to pay 27 Euros (approx. 53 U.S.) for the taxi ride back.

Purchase a tram and bus ticket at the hotel reception, we got one for 96 hours (4 days) it was money well spent

The evening receptionist was efficient, friendly and most helpful. The night receptionist was exactly the opposite. I had to change my room because of the noise from the air conditioning. The night receptionist was most arrogant and very ununhelpful. Also the hotel really quite far from the centre of amsterdam. The brealfast was very good.
