The LV buffets are a usually a great value. Sunset station has a fantastic buffet at a fair price (I'll bet the other station casinos are good too). The El Cortez funbook gives you $5 off their buffet (which was ok).

This is an old hotel. The casino is small, the restaurants need an upgrade but its cheap and the staff is friendly.

Great hotel and cheap. Huge rooms. Be sure to get the Tower room. Is right at Fremont. To get to the strip you just simply go across the street and jump on the Deuce bus. $5.00 for a day pass and you can ride up and down the strip. Great place. Would def go back.. Cheap buffet as well.

Hotel was clean and comfy. Had a non-smoking room that did not smell like stale smoke. Good deal if you want the Vegas experience without spending all the money. Good place to gamble. Will definitely go again.

hotel is worth for the money I pai. But I would suggest for a better hotel even though a little more expensive in the strip instead of this one in downtown

We have stayed at the El Cortez prior to this trip and we have loved it everytime. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The coffee shop is actually very good. The El Cortez is a very nice place to stay. The outside needs some updating and the neighborhood is not the greatest but the hotel itself is great! Also there is a great Mexican/Cuban restaurant, Mamacita's, right across the street.
