But finance is just one aspect of Lower Manhattan, where colonial churches stand next to skyscrapers. Within the district, rebuilding continues at Ground Zero. At Battery Park, ferries depart for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, America’s beacon of freedom.
see all hotels in Wall Street - Financial District"Ace place at more affortable price"by P from Reading, UK
My boyfriend and I loved staying at this hotel in lower Manhattan. It was in a good location, very close to subways and easy to get around from. We found our room small but clean. We stayed on the top floor which is 21 floors up and had a good view out of the window. They have free filtered water for you in bottles that you can help yourself to on each floor which is a great idea for the weary traveller. We'd definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
"Reasonable Accomodation but beware very noisy and the family room is not 2 beds - it is 1 bed an"by K from Birmingham
The hotel is well placed for excursions - being next to the Wall Street subway which has direct line to Times Square. It is within 5 minutes walking distance of Ground Zero and the Ferries to the Statue of Liberty. I had a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. I asked for beds and ended up with a sofa bed for the kids. The room was adequate, clean and tidy, despite the unsatidsfactory bedding arrangements. However beware - the hotel is opposite a office block with very moisy air condition units all hours of day and night (and weekends). I had to change rooms from the 9th to the 4th floor. The noise is too much the higher up the building you go and a number of residents complained. This is a long standing issue and not one likely to be resolved. There is also a lot of work beig done around ground zero and that can be noisey as well.
