All rooms includeSome of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.
see all hotels in Midtown"Good for independent travellers"by A from London
While the decor of the hotel is a bit dated, and some of the kitchen and bathroom areas could have done with a bit of new paint or wallpaper, the staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. And having the option of cooking a quick meal or having breakfast in your (large and homey) room is great for jetlagged travellers, those on a budget (though finding cheap supermarkets in Manhattan requires a bit of homework), and anyone who doesn't fancy eating out every night. Recommended both for convenience, comfort but most of all the staff.
"Central edge hotel"by s from Lancashire
If you are looking for luxury then you wont get that here. However, it was quiet, clean and spacious. En suite bedroom and separate toilet and wash facilities. Reasonable kitchen including dishwasher. Dining table and lounge area. Located not far from Grand Central Station - two down and two up.
"Good location and great size room"by T from Cork, Ireland
Room clean, near grand central. Great size room, hotel staff friendly. Got a good reduction deal as booked early. No noise problems. I will definitely stay again once I get a deal again. Good diner one block up for breakfast. Once you are fairly able you can walk to time square, central park, grand central. Get a good metro map and everything is at your door. Had no porblems on the metro, very safe from my experience. Recommend top of the rock which is very walkable. This hotel has no restaurant but it is NYC has so much to offer that I think this is a good thing.
"A GEM"by J from Cheltenham
Having read some very negative reports about Eastgate, I was really expecting the worst but I could not have been more suprised. The staff were most helpful and not at all pushy, the Irish bellhop was very helpful. As my son had the flu and was in bed for two days I was stuck in my room -not a problem. You have a very well equipped kitchen and as the bedroom is separate from the living accommodation it really could not have been more ideal. The décor is dated but quite honestly it did not matter the situation, facilities and general ambiance of the hotel more than outweighs that. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, there is an excellent Japanese(Han) around the corner, Docks is down the road and Grand Central is only a few paces down the road and there you are guaranteed good food all day and a taxi. I will go back and would advise anyone with a family to consider it.

"Better than we'd expected"by S from Berkshire, England
Very helpful staff - although we arrived 2hrs early they gave us a room straight away. The room was a lot spacious than we'd anticipated. Comfy bed. Good location. Short walk to Grand Central Station. Would definitively book there again.
"If space is your priority"by K from Somerset
First trip to NY in December 2008. With two teenage daughters in tow, we needed lots of space without the expense of booking two rooms. Our two bed suite was vast for NY. Huge lounge, two doubles in main bedroom and twin beds in second bedroom. Two bathrooms and a kitchen, plus views from 23rd floor. Well located for shopping, theatres and Empire State etc. Good restaurants nearby, especially on 2nd Avenue. No restaurant, but breakfast in Frontier Cafe a few yards away was quick and good value. Basic hotel, but clean spacious and good value.
"Central and friendly"by G from Scotland
You can't beat its location. Walking distance to Times Square, Grand Central, Penn Station, Bryant Park etc.. Highly recommend the diner around the corner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing is the bathroom and the toilet definitely needs updating (it's hard to flush!).
"fantastic hotel"by E from IRELAND
fantastic hotel, we had a kitchen in our bedroom which cut down on the cost of having to go out for breakfast, bedroom very clean and very big we had great room to put our suitcases away and our purchases, i thought it a bit far out we had to walk a good distance to get to our tour bus, but in saying that it helped us get fitter and see new york for what it is, i would highly recommend this hotel, also staff fantastic very helpful.
"Good for the Price in NYC"by C from Scotland
Overall i would recomend the east gate tower suite for its price, location and hotel staff. The only downside is the decor is dated but then when you are in NYC you dont spend much time in your hotel !!
