A curate's egg - good in parts!
Room and bedding, etc very clean. :
Long, large corner room but no decent lighting in central area. Noisy from external air conditioners. Entrance lobby of hotel very dark. Restaurant closed and rudimentary breakfast offered to compensate.
Location very good.

Would always use this hotel if in New York
My wife and I stayed in the Flatotel over Christmas 2008 and were very impressed by the size of the room for a central New York hotel. It had a large bathroom with a plentiful supply of clean towels. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel to my discerning friends.

Will definitely go back to this hotel
My husband and I stayed for 4 days on a trip to New York.We arrived early(12pm) and asked to store our bags until time for check in. They told us our room was available and we could go straight there,brilliant!We received a letter welcoming us to hotel and a care package was waiting when we returned on out first evening. The hotel is conveniently located on 52nd St,about 5 mins walk to Times Square.
The rooms are so large and comfortable,and staff were so helpful and friendly.When I return to New York,I will definitely be staying at this hotel.
