We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. It is "off the beaten track", well away from the crowds and noise of mid and up-town but we defintely thought it was all the better for it's position. The hotel is downtown, not far from Wall Street, Ground Zero, Battery Park (with access to Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty etc) but very near subway stations that take you mid and uptown in around 15 minutes. Being in the financial district means it is very quiet at weekends in particular but there are still plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops on your doorstep including the goode choisce of eateries and shops on Pier 17. The hotel itself is new, very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The rooms (ours was a deluxe king) are huge by New York standards and very clean. The service across the board was impeccable from reception, to room service, to housekeeping. The in-house restaurant, The Libertine, was very good and the restaurant covers the room service food which was equally top class. I find it difficult to fault the hotel really. My only suggestion would be that our room had just one chair (at the desk/dressing table) but had plenty of room for two small armchairs and coffee table and would have benefitted from these.

I had booked another hotel but was not happy with my choice. I booked Gild Hall at the last minute after reading good reviews about it. My partner and I stayed here for five nights. From our arrival to departure, our stay was excellent. The greeting we received on arrival was first class and the room was a good size for New York. The bed was so comfortable and we appreciated the nice little touches like the complimentary daily brownies. The only minor criticism I would make would be that complimetary tea and coffee was not available in the hotel. Other than that, I found this hotel highly impressive and would gladly stay again.

Checked us in to someone else's room - promised to send something up as an apology - never did!!! Couldn't sleep until 2am due to construction work out front. Lovely hotel, great location - let down by sloppiness.

Very nice hotel. Very good service. Nothing to complain about except that the price of breakfast certainly require going out.
