No tea/coffee in the room. Room and bathromm dirty and hotel badly needs an update. Only upside is complimentary breakfast
"A home from home"by S from London
I arrived late into the city and was travelling alone before meeting friends the next day. Because of the friendly faces I met at the hotel and the comfortable room, I felt right at home immediately. The neighbourhood is very convenient and has a great range of amenities, so I found everything I needed, including some wine and breakfast for my fridge. It was just like having my own apartment on the UES, and I'd definiely recommed it. Thanks for looking after me.
"Very impressed by this city centre hotel"by L from Dublin, Ireland
I stayed in this hotel for 6 5 nights with two of my friends. We had a huge room, with a big walkin closet. The room was a little drafty and the interiors a little shabby. But that aside we had a very pleasant stay here. The front of house staff were always helpful and assisted us with dinner reservations. When i return to new york i will stay here and recommend others to stay here too.
"Cheap but cheerful"by K from Horsham
This hotel is in the perfect location, a few blocks to grand central, straight down 48th takes you right into times square and central park and 5 are just as close. The staff are friendly and helpful and although the breakfast is nothing special, just bagels and pastries and drinks, it does save you money. The hotel itself is in need of a refurb, we were on the 7th floor and it really could do with a paint job to make it look fresh. The room itself was a great size, there were 4 of us in one room to help save the pennies and there was more than enough room, bathroom slightly small but there was a sink and mirror area outside the bathroom which helped. Fridge provided. Overall great stay and cheap, would go back just because of the location and price
"Great value and good location"by K from London
My stay was a combination of business and pleasure. As a 'tourist' hotel the Helmsley Middletowne is great - good location, friendly, helpful staff and great value. The hotel is not so well set up for business guests however as there is no business centre, computers, public areas or restaurant.
"Well located"by N from London
The location is ideal, but definitely this place needs a spruce up. The staff is helpful. The "breakfast included" needs better definition.
