We are a couple in our late 20's who stayed for a total of two nights. We found the room to be of a good standard with a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. It was nice to have a breakfast included as well-bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, juice and tea. Durning our stay we relaxed, we went bowling and didn't venture into New York as we had already spent a week there. Nearby are various fastfood locations and a nice resturant next to the hotel where we had a delicious pasta meal. Part of the reason the hotel is cheap is the location: it's hard to get to if you do not have your own vehicle. It is good for going to the Jersey Garden Outlet Mall if you are flying from Newark airport as we were. Be warned, the hotel staff we spoke to insisted that the only way to get there is by Taxi. We did a bit of research (free wifi internet at the hotel, very nice) and caught a bus(the 111) to the Mall on our last day, $5.60 for two, a much better deal. Buses go from the corner of 31st and Bergenline streets, taxi to there is about $8. There is a shuttle from the mall to the airport. The hotel has a shuttle into New York, Port Authority terminal, right in the thick of things, leaving in the mornings for $6. There is also a bus available but it is a steep uphill walk away.

When I first read the reviews I was reluctant to book the hotel. However the price is so good and the location is so close that I thought I would take the chance. We are a couple in our 20's and we found the hotel room of a high standard, had everything we needed and the room was cleaned daily. I wanted to write a positive review so that it doesnt other people of staying here. We got a free breakfast which was good and the staff were pleasant. The location is ideal, all you need to do is turn left out of the hotel and then take the first left, it is a very steep hill but it warms you up on a cold morning! once at the top you will see a Coach House Diner on your right, continue to the top of the road opposite the diner and then wait at the Bus Stop on the left hand side that has a bench.. A minibus comes every 2 mins and it only costs $2.50 per person, we even miss the bus journey!! It takes you into Bus Terminal near times square and when you come back go to gate 51 and get off at 10th Avenue on Kennedy Boulevard opposite the Diner.. If you want a cheap hotel like a Travelodge please dont be put off by past comments, we went in Dec 08 and were pleasantly surprised!
