I stayed in the hotel for 6 nights while visiting NY for a holiday. I was very happy with the hotel and its location. The staff was extremely polite and nice. The king room was very good and clean too. You definitely need to go to the spa, that looks just refurbished. Next time when I am in NY, I will stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. After visiting family upstate we thought we would treat our children (twin 14 yr old boys) to an upper end hotel. They were blown away by it. They loved the fitness centre, steam room and spa, with free water and apples!! They loved the robes and their own flat screen tv. It was sheer relaxation for us all and in such a great location, just opposite central park, great for walks and skateboarding! We would definitely come back.

Good location, central for whole of Manhattan, easy access to subways, bus tours, museums on 5th Avenue, shopping and of course Central Park . Staff were attentive and very helpful.

We decided to go to new york for christmas shopping and choose the Jumeriah essex for our stay. Fantastic hotel opposite central park.Very clean with friendly staff. New york is not cheap at the moment but hey the atmosphere is brilliant . A good start to christmas 2008. Cant wait for 2009 Jumeriah. Northeast folk

This is an excellent hotel right on the edge of Central Park and close to shopping and theatre districts. The hotel has excellent public areas (although not cheap) and our room was very well appointed, clean and well designed. Service was excellent.

Great find! Have been to NY several times and was very impressed with the Essex. Great location if you wish to stay near 5th Ave; Tiffany, Saks etc. Can't fault the hotel or the staff. Luxury rooms, bathrooms, great restaurant. Would def return either for romantic break or shopping trip with the girls!! Price is reasonable too for NY and you get a very impressive hotel.

Hotel was fantastic, perfect location for Shopping, sight seeing buses and relaxing in Central Park. would reccomend little french cafe on corner of 56 & 7th fab egg benedict!!!. so tired after 12hrs per day shopping and sight seeing we ordered room service for food, it was great. Hotel service and location is fantastic, i would use again and reccomend to anyone!!

This hotel is extremely well placed at Central Park South, very helpful staff, great rooms although at the price we paid there was no view, quiet rooms and well furnished and prepared. We would stay again anytime.

"Beautiful hotel!"by J from London
I haven't been to the Essex House for eight years. I was extremely impressed with the recent renovation. The art deco finishes are superb. The rooms are very comfortable. I will be back much sooner for my next return.
